195 RCSCC Bicknell

History

In 2015 RCSCC BICKNELL Celebrated it's 50th Anniversary.

195 RCSCC BICKNELL was established as a corps in 1964 by Mr. Bicknell. In 2015, 50th years later, we stand strong and proud. We celebrate the participation and progression made throughout these years, establishing RCSCC BICKNELL as one of the strongest and successful corps in British Columbia.

"D'YE HEAR THERE"

In 1962 a vision began to develop in the minds of Mr.'s Bicknell, Crawford, Kavanaugh and Nicholson. What they envisioned was a Richmond based Sea Cadet Corps that would alleviate the need to travel to Vancouver, the nearest Sea Cadet Corps location at that time.

After years of work and a great deal of perseverance, their dreams and hard work were rewarded. In 1964 a new Corps was formed, to be known as the "195 Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Bicknell", so named for one of its founding principles, Mr. Bicknell.

For those who were not aware of it, Mr. Bicknell was a Harbourmaster for the port of Vancouver and a major factor with Cates Towing in North Vancouver.
